Shahidul Alam, who has been accused of interviewing Al Jazeera TV for criticizing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the student movement in August, demanded safe road to Bangladesh. Later, Shahidul Alam has been remanded for seven days in a case filed under the ICT Act's Section 57(2) and kept in jail for more than a hundred days. He is currently free on bail. If convicted, he can face imprisonment for a maximum of 14 years. Still, he is thinking of holding professional duty in Bangladesh elections on 30 December. Shahidul Alam told Time that the decision was taken from the fear of fraud and vote rigging in the election.
