"On the Road" north American premier: Chriten Stewart before press again

"Snow White and the Huntsman" hit the big screen in July and now she is promoting her new  film "On the Road." On Thursday she attends North American premiere of her new movie. In the show Kristen Stewart for the first time faced the press following her cheating scandal - but she had a co-star at her side as she tackled the media.

Garrett Hedlund, Kristen's "On The Road" co-star, teamed up with the 22-year-old, as they stuck to just promoting the film."I'm proud of the whole cast in the movie," Kristen told Access Hollywood's Scott "Movie" Mantz. "It's crazy."

"On The Road" is based on the famed Beat Generation novel by Jack Kerouac and Kristen thinks the storyline is just as timely as when it was published (in the late 1950s)."I don't think it's ever been more relevant," she said. "There's never going to be a time when people like that don't exist. There's never going to be a time when like the little outskirt of people that wanted to do things a little bit differently aren't there and that's why it's, in a way, I think it's not about how rebellious they were being for the time or what conventions they were going against, it was so much more than that. It's not about being rebellious. It's about being yourself."

Kristen's performance in the film - as Marylou - already has some buzz with critics and her co-star, Garrett, who plays Dean Moriarty, said he was impressed.

"I'm so proud of her performance and I think everybody's wonderful. Like, everybody that came on was such a fan of Kerouac and the book and the project and a fan of Walter Salles," Garrett said. "Everybody brought their hearts to the role and it's sometimes a rare experience but in this case it's really wonderful."
