Two Hollywood action stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone were shown apparently waiting to receive treatment for injuries sustained from movie stunts. Cynics suggested the picture itself was a stunt as the pair have a film called The Tomb to promote. It showed the two sexagenarians on neighboring hospital gurneys.
Schwarzenegger, 64, had his arm in a sling. Stallone, who is a year older at 65, was shown hooked up to an IV drip with a syringe protruding from his neck. Schwarzenegger posted the picture on the internet and said: “After all the action, stunts and physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder.
“Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery. Now we’re ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb.” It was announced earlier this week that the two actors, who competed for the title of Hollywood’s biggest action star in the 1980s, had both signed up for the film. It will feature Stallone as the designer of a prison and Schwarzenegger as an inmate.
Schwarzenegger previously had a cameo role in Stallone’s action film The Expendables and also appears in its upcoming sequel. He is currently finishing work on The Last Stand, his first starring role since returning to acting after serving as California’s governor.
According to Deadline, In the new film "The Tomb" Stallone will play a man who builds a prison that can’t be escaped from, gets sent to said prison after being set up and then has to get out of the prison he created. Yikes! Schwarzenegger will play an inmate.
The Governator explained on Twitter, “After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder."
