Julia Stiles' role in Dexter enables her to tape the repressed emotions of civilized society.

Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations for the role in 'Dexter' has made her famous as the roles in 'Save The Last Dance' and 'Mona Lisa Smile' do. She is none other than 30 years old ctress Julia Slites. She recently says in the late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon about the film Dexter.


“It was great, I was thrilled to be a part of it. I came in in the fifth season, so it already was a well-oiled machine at that point,” Stiles said, joking that the show’s star, Michael C. Hall, is not a murderer in real life.

Stiles, who joined the Showtime series Dexter fifth season (spoilers coming) in the role of  Lumen Ann Pierce, a rescued victim. Overnight she turned-hero assisting Dexter Morgan in his dispatching of criminals that slip through the false cracks of the regular law.

The role has enabled her to show herself as the representative of lots of victims who can not get the culprits punished by the law. She in the show got the chance to avenge herself on the would be killer and presented a particular emotional areas that are normally repressed in civilized society. “[Not the urge to kill]… But emotions like hate or anger or revenge,” she explained.

When asked about the “kill room,” where Dexter “does the deed,” Stiles said: “It’s pretty exhilarating, partially because of the history of the show. There’s a kind of sacredness to the way that they’re filmed. Everyone’s very much on alert because of the safety issues, but, yeah, that tradition … I felt privileged to be a part of it.” Dexter Season 5 has come out on DVD and Blu-Ray on Tuesday, August 16.
